Over priced.
Top Tip
Barcelona is beautiful. Avoid lower west side of La Rambla, smelly and seedy.

Hotel was clean and staff were friendly and helpful

Watch out for theft. One member of our party was robbed of her pocketbook right outside the hotel. We were informed that theft incidence is very high in Barcelona and many others told stories of their thefts also. Left us with a very bad taste for Barcelona as the police station was loaded with people who had also been robbed.

Ideal hotel in perfect location. Good beds, fab shower. Delicious breakfast, incredible variety of items, including Spanish specialties. Lots of fruit. Empty platters were quickly replenished. Loved the romantic terrace bar where we had breakfast and nightcaps (reasonably priced drinks). Walking into the hotel from lively Plaza de Catalunya felt like entering an oasis. Quiet rooms, too, even though we faced the plaza.

We spent three nights/four days in Barcelona and ate three times at Taller de Tapas (Argenteria 51 (El Born barrio) and Rambla Catalunya 49-51). Excellent food, really good house wine, such friendly service and nice atmosphere. Also reasonably priced; we paid between Eur 37 and 69 for two, including wine. Locals were queuing up at 9 PM. We ate at the Rambla branch on our first night and chose this restaurant because it was crowded with mainly Spanish people. Great pick.

It would certainly be an improvement to do something with the small coffee machine at breakfast. This is inadequate for the quantity of people using it. the staff have to constantly refill the water causing queues.

There is a metro staion nearby, get a metro map and 10 ticket book for 7 euros. It is a quick and regular service to get around the city. Head down to flaherty's just off Las Rambla for happy hour (beer 1 euro) and some lovely home made food. The coach tour to Montserrat is not cheap at 70 euros but the scenery is stunning, take the Fenicular to the top of the hill and have a walk around..

The only thing we could fault the car parking was extra. The hotel didn't offer any concession for staying in the hotel. This totalled £78.00 for the 2 night stay.
