THIS HOTEL IS CLEAN AND BEAUTIFULLY LOCATED. THE HOTEL STAFF WERE EXCEPTIONALLY HELPFUL.THERE IS A SIMPLE AND ADAQUATE BREAKFAST BUFFET AND NEARBY MANY RESTAURANT CHOICES. THE MATTRESSES ARE A BIT HARD. WE WILL STAY HERE AGAIN
Top Tip
THE SANTA ANNA RESTAURANT ACROSS IS VERY GOOD. WE ALSO RECOMMEND SINATRA'S RESTAURANT.

The hotel was really hot and there was no way to turn heating off as the radiator wasn't even on - perhaps it was underfloor heating. Our room was beautiful and had a small balcony so we were able to have the doors open abit for ventilation. It could have done with a bin in the room as the cleaners didn't take away our rubbish- perhaps cause we had it neatly stacked on the table??
The pillows were awful and the beds "firm" but we still slept well and would go back! Meals are available in the hotel though this was not made clear when we arrived which was a shame as we would have eaten there the first night instead of wandering about.
Top Tip
The music with the magic fountain was some of the worst compilation 80's pop we had ever heard - it must improve during the high season and the visual experience was good! Nice restaurants close at hand to the hotel to the right - away from the rambalas.

Really good hotel, looks great (lots of original features), very nice and clean room (ours had a balcony), helpful staff, really excellent location.
Breakfast is ok, although not great value - especially considering there are three excellent cafes all within 20 metres of the front door (so go to them for breakfast).
Top Tip
Beware of pickpockets, and don't carry your bag on your back. We were victims at the airport when we arrived - distracted while boarding the bus into town. But in spite of that, Barcelona is such a wonderful city, we still think it's one of the best city breaks we've ever had.
One piece of advice - the old cathedral is free and well worth a visit, but Gaudi's Sagrada Familia is not really worth paying 11 euros to see inside!
Also, the Barcelona City Tour buses are cheaper, less tedious, and ALOT less busy than the official Bus Turistic buses.

Excellent location. We had a room on 2nd floor at the front. No more street noise than you would expect...I didn't use the ear plugs I took. Simple breakfast ... serve yourself Scrambled Eggs on Toast...and heat up the croissant....plenty to set you up for the day. Desk staff really helpful. Excellent shower. Hairdryer in room but no kettle...take your own. Only one English speaking TV channel....BBC News...but you won't be in your room much....Las Ramblas right on your doorstep! I would definately book again.
Top Tip
Cellar Tapas on the Triangle is good for afternoon Tapas.
The Mojito's at Menage a Trois are to die for....on the first square you find behind the hotel. Definately do the tourist bus. Picasso museum free on first sunday of the month and if you don't get there early, go later to avoid queues.

Dinner menu a bit fishy for us.
Top Tip
Be very - very careful about pick-pockets / street theft - before arriving in the city centre. Remain diligent at all times. Do not underestimate what they will try.
Great to amble La Rambla and harbour area.
Great view of city and countryside from mountain (Tredegado?) and from Mont Juic gardens.
Nice beach near Olympic marina.

Room did not have any windows which made us uncomfortable when sleeping (no air) and made the room dark with no way to see outside. Otherwise very satisfied.
Top Tip
Santa Anna is a very good restaurant near the hotel and very reasonably priced.
