Noisy at front of hotel at night

A slightly old-fashioned, friendly hotel, well-run and good in every way except the lifts - one was out of commission and the other rather temperamental... awaiting imminent replacement, they said. Amazing to find ourselves in a room fronting the Palau Guell - it felt special. Downside was the noise of partying locals and visitors through the night! But great sense of place.

Top Tip
Best restaurant we found was called Sinatra - five minutes walk across the Ramlas and Plaza Real; excellent food and service at sensible prices.

This was the second time I had stayed at this hotel and I will be going back in the new year. The hotel is in the best possible location, about half way down the ramblas. We were not bothered by streetnoise and found that the view was brilliant, we were on the fifth floor. The first room we were allocated smelt strongly of cigarettes as the previous guest smoked but the hotel staff changed the room very quickly giving us a choice of five other rooms. Fantastic.

Top Tip
Finding a restaurant that had no smoking was very difficult on the ramblas, but we did find a brilliant wee turkish kebab place on the same street as the gaudi. It is the third one in from las ramblas, nearest to the guell house, the food is delicious we found ourselves going back every night.

The room was small and the beds were rock hard making sleeping very difficult. The bathroom was adequate and acceptably clean. Noisy at night especially at the weekend.

Top Tip
Do not eat or drink on the Ramblas as the prices have gone very expensive.

We stayed in the Hotel for 3 nights. We could not sleep because a generator or exterior air conditioner unit was running for most of the night. We would not stay in this hotel again even if they gave us a free holiday.

only problem we found was our room was on the front of the hotel & it was noise all night till it got light,we would book the hotel again but on the back

Location, location, location. Just across the road from Gaudi's Guell Palace and one minute's walk to La Rambla. We had a room at the front of the hotel with a small balcony - excellent except for the noise from the revellers on the street below - which went on 'til about 5 am. Very happy with our stay.

The streets outside were VERY noisy, increasing in volume to 3:30 am. I am sure that rooms not overlooking the road were quieter. Apart from that we were very pleased with the hotel and staff.
