Our Review

A great traditional style four star hotel opposite the cathederal in the heart of the Gothic Quarter - excellent city centre location. Staff have a good reputation for helpul and friendly service, the hotel also has a bar and restaurant. Rooms are bigger than most in Barcelona but they do vary a bit because its a historic building. If you are looking for traditional hospitality rather than trendy design the Colon may be for you.

Hotel Facilities:

Breakfast ... The hotel has a cosy breakfast room, which serves a hot and cold buffet from 07.00 – 11.00.

Meeting Room ... There are two meeting rooms: Miro, seating a maximum of 60 persons, and Marina, with a capacity of 150. These rooms are available for many different functions.

Parking ... The hotel does not have its own car parking facilities, however there are two public car parks nearby.

Restaurant ... The restaurant, “La Carabela,” is open for lunch and dinner. There is also a bar, which opens from 10.30 until 24.00. The hotel has a cosy breakfast room, which serves a hot and cold buffet from 07.00 –11.00.

Internet access @ %u20AC9.00 per day is extravagant.... luggage was securely stored after check out ... Dinner menu the same for the 10 days we were there... Bar food very expensive... Its own restraurant offers good food.... The square in front of the hotel is a great spot for a glass of vino or coffee.... Also, you can park your car right by the Hotel while you unload before parking your car in the public underground car park - saves lugging your bags around! ... We loved the typical coffee table and chairs outside on the plaza ... The facilities were good... Lifts are efficient but there are steps to enter the hotel. Not good for disabled... Room Service stops at midnight as does the bar... The bar shut a little early between 1130 - 1200... Nice hotel bar ... We didn't have any food in the hotel but all the other facilities were excellent ...
